TWO TIMELINES
Expedited processing: about 9 to 10 weeks start to finish.
Regular processing: about 3 to 4 months, driven almost entirely by the state's backlog rather than by any part of the work itself.
You don't have to wait for any of it. Your LLC can conduct business normally from the day it was formed, straight through the publication process.
Paying for it
All major cards, PayPal, or by check. If you'd rather spread the cost, choose the payment plan at checkout — four interest-free payments, one a week.
THE ROCKLAND COUNTY REGISTERED AGENT QUESTION
Publication is priced by the county your LLC is tied to, and the difference between counties is enormous. In Manhattan, Brooklyn or Queens the newspapers alone can run past $1,200. In Rockland County it is a fraction of that.
So we appoint ourselves as your registered agent here in Rockland — or change your existing agent — which gives your LLC a Rockland location we can publish against. That single step is what makes a flat $399 possible no matter where you are.
What it does not do: it does not change your business address, we do not receive your mail, and it has no effect on where you can conduct business. Your mail continues to arrive exactly where it does now.
STARTING LATE?
It is never too late. Whenever your LLC was formed, and whatever deadline has passed, the requirement stands and the fix is identical.
Placing the order is itself protection, and your LLC returns to good standing automatically once the process completes. If a bank or a closing needs proof in the meantime, ask and we'll send an underway letter.
WHY NOT DO IT YOURSELF?
You can attempt it. The difficulty is knowing where to begin — which papers qualify, what the notice must say, what the clerk requires. One mistake means republishing and paying the newspapers all over again.
Most people also find it costs them more than our fee once the invoices arrive. We work on volume and don't make much per order.
How the process works, step by step
1. You order — about five minutes
Your LLC name and how to reach you. That's the whole of your involvement. We don't need any documents from you. Everything required — formation date, county, address, the exact wording for the notice — comes straight from the New York State corporations database. This is why we never send you a form to fill in and never ask you to dig out your Articles.
2. We become your registered agent in Rockland County
This is the step that saves you the money, and it deserves a plain explanation. See the box to the right.
3. We draft and place your notices
Two approved Rockland County newspapers — one daily, one weekly — running once a week for six consecutive weeks. Twelve insertions in total. We write the notice, place it, and track the run.
4. We collect the affidavits
When the six weeks are up, both newspapers issue sworn affidavits of publication. Chasing these down is where most people attempting this alone get stuck.
5. We file the Certificate of Publication
The certificate and both affidavits go to the Department of State, and we pay the state's filing fee ourselves. Nothing arrives at your door to sign or forward.
6. The state issues your filing receipt
Once it approves the certificate, the Department of State sends the filing receipt — the only official proof that publication is complete. We email it to you. Keep it with your LLC records and you're done, permanently.
7. A year of registered agent service, free
Included with every order. When the process is finished we can transfer the agent role back to you at no charge — you choose on the order form.
How long it takes
The six-week newspaper run is fixed by statute. Everything after it is the Department of State's processing queue, which is outside anyone's control.
